Vedder Mountain Annual Trail Cleanup Day 2008
Announcement from the Vedder Mountain Trail Association:
Mountain Cleanup day is Sunday April 27th. Jack's Cycle is BBQing on the mountain. Please pass this on to all riders. Lots of junk to cleanup.
It is time once again for the annual Vedder Mountain trail clean up and maintenance day which will be going down April 27.
Because of the ease of access to this area and its proximity to an urban area, Vedder Mountain suffers an inordinate amount of illegal dumping from bone-heads and rednecks who cannot be bothered to use legit means of disposal. No one wants to look at old TV's and mattresses when we are out enjoying our trails so once a year a mass cleanup and trail maintenance day goes down. What better way to raise your trail and biking karma if you enjoy riding Vedder's sweet trail offerings....
We will meet up at 9:00am at the main shuttle parking lot. From there we will go collect trash (Please bring gloves....some will be provided) for a couple of hours then break for a great free lunch. We will then head back to the hill and do some actual trail maintenance that is much needed after all the wet weather we have been having. So please bring out your rakes, shovels and buckets. Please note DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE. There will be no where to keep it and there will be NO shuttles. This is a work day to raise your biking karma. If you have any questions feel free to check in with Rob at Jacks Cycle (604-858-3011) or Mark (Baloom) of Vedder Mountain Trails Association (604-793-5265) (or PM me). As in past years there will be a great, free lunch and tons o' free swag from our very generous sponsors. Even if you don't mountain bike, there is always free Tim Hortons and Starbucks swag for the caffeinated set.
Just a recap.
