On Saturday November 11th we cancelled our plans to go hike
Eaton Lake because the road was washed out. We moved to plan B: do
Campbell Lake, Near Harrison Hot Springs. It was raining at Starbucks when we met and it was raining even harder at the trailhead when we arrived. The trail was basically a creek bed for the first 30 minutes. Once we got into the forest the trail wasn't as wet, but we soon found ourselves hiking in a little bit of snow...and then it started snowing. A number of the "log bridges" on this trail are busted or too scarey looking to use, so we bushwacked through a creek or two and were able to arrive at our goal -- the helicopter pad. While we got thoroughly soaked to the bone on this hike I have to say it was pretty fun sloshing through all of that water. Easy rule of thumb for not getting lost on this hike: as long as you're hiking in the creek you're on the trail.

Great hike. First time for me tha I went 'creek hiking'.
Great test of your waterproof boots. My leather Timberland boots kept the water out for two hours.
Your experience may vary
