Calendar of upcoming hikes & events for the Southside Hiking Club. See hikes we've done in the past.

May 2007

• May 12 Elk Mountain
• May 26 (Saturday): Stawamus Chief (Squamish BC)
  • Stawamus Chief hike and driving details
  • The Plan: We'll start hiking from the Shannon Falls parking lot at 11am. We'll be hiking to the first peak. If some in the group want to hike to the 2nd or 3rd peak we'll discuss time and carpool options to see if that can be managed. Only if it's necessary, phone 604-845-7847 the morning of the hike to speak to Brent, your hike leader. Don't phone to arrange special carpool or pickup on Saturday morning as you need to arrange that before the day of the hike-- read meeting place info below for instructions.
  • Chilliwack Meeting Place: If you're from the Chilliwack area we will be meeting at 8:00 AM in the Sardis Starbucks parking lot. Don’t be late. Once there we can arrange carpooling. We'll need a few drivers so come prepared to drive (ie print out the directions) if you've got wheels.
  • Abbotsford Meeting Place: If you live anywhere between Vancouver and Abbotsford, email lorriratzlaff[at]shaw.ca to arrange meeting places and times.
  • Vancouver Meeting Place: If you live anywhere between Vancouver and Abbotsford, email lorriratzlaff[at]shaw.ca to arrange a meeting time and to let us know you're coming. Our meeting location is at the McDonalds restaurant just off the freeway on Hastings Street. If you're hoping to leave your car at this meeting place, you may have to park down the road then walk back to McDonalds as McD's may not allow all day parking. See map
  • Carpooling: If you're not driving to the trail yourself, every passenger needs to pay their carpool driver $10 each for gas before we leave in the morning.
  • New Members: If you're new, make sure you've completed the membership paperwork before arriving.
